Nick Adams owns Australia

Syndicate's Nick Adams set the Australian Open Men's Slalom record which had stood for 12 years.

Adams takes Australia

With a score of 2 buoys at 41' off (10.25m) in Okeeheelee Park, West Palm Beach, FL, Adams surpassed the record that had stood for almost 12 years. In 1999, Simon "Snag" Hill set the record 1t 1.5 @ 41'off, beating the then long standing record from Brett Thurley that had stood for 8 years. Therefore, Nick is only the second person in the past 20 years to snag the previous record holder's crown.

Nick has had a tremendous year, having been crowned the Australian Open Men's Slalom champion in Townsville earlier this season. Adams also had a solid showing at the Malibu Open in Milwaukee, WI scoring 1@41'off, a half buoy short of the then-Aussie record.

Adams: on his gamestyle on water

When he's not tearing up the lakes of down-under, Nick does his slashing in Hobe Sound, FL.  I asked Nick about the feel of his record setting pass. "What a day! At 41, I got a sick sick 1 ball and felt good enough to run it, but I just stood up to get the full 2 for sure. Happy to have that done so now I can go for it at 41"
