| Bob LaPoint on his A1 at the Masters |
|
Recently held in Pine Mountain, Georgia, the 51st Masters presented by Correct Craft featured a duo of past Masters Champions. As a token of appreciation for the dedicated Masters fans and for the future legends of the sport, Bob LaPoint and Andy Mapple went head to head in a fun exhibition that got the crowd on their feet!
On both Saturday and Sunday the two athletes, both multiple winners on Robin Lake, took to the water in a fun duel. I happened to be there for the show and I can honestly say I didn’t hear a louder roar from the crowd than I did during Bob and Andy’s passes. Growing up a ski junkie, these two names are by far the biggest names that I remember and to witness them battle once again was memorable. To add to the excitement, Syndicate Team skiers Wade Cox and Marcus Brown were on the microphone backing up our lead ski designer while O’Brien had their own representation in Andy’s corner. More history was shed on the crowd in 30 minutes than anyone expected as the banter went back and forth.
Both Bob and Andy skied clean through 38’ off and in the end Andy edged out Bob slightly. No matter the outcome, this display of legends back on the water going head to head was incredible. Not only was the crowd into it, even the best skiers in the world wouldn’t take their eyes off the water while this pair of legends skied once again in the Masters. |
