PETE KUHLMANN

Pete Kuhlmann has been involved with the development of Wakeskiing from the beginning, testing our original prototypes and launching the Wakeski movement. Pete was the first guy I know of who was doing flips, spins, switch entries, etc… on Wakeskis and we’re ever grateful. With an extensive background in show skiing, he had all the skills to make Wakeskiing look great from the get go. As I’ve come to know him better though, I’ve got the sense that riding wakeskis is where his heart is. This past September at the Inaugural WakeSki Open I asked Pete what he thought afterwards and he simple said, “It was the most fun he’d had on skis in a long time” with a big smile.

Q & A

The Cable seems to be going off, why all the progression there?

-Cable is just so accessable. A person can ride and learn so much in a small amount of time. You don't need a boat or a buddy, just 20 bucks and a little drive learn!

How’s your wake riding?

-My wakes pretty good but could always use improvement. I will definetly be working hard for some new tricks this season, so look out for the videos!

The first competition went down, The Wakeski Open, how was that experience?

-The first comp was awesome! Normally I'm not a contest person, but it had been a long time since I had done a one so I was pretty excited! We all pushed each other really hard and it made for some of the best runs our sport has seen yet.

What’s something everyone should know about Wakeskiing?

-Whether you’re a skier or a wakeboarder you'll have fun on wakeskis, so try 'em!

What’s something everyone should know about you?

I suck at slalom skiing.
